Odessa court rules on arrest of chemical transport ship Journal Staff Report
A district court in Odessa has ruled to arrest the Taipan (owned by Taipan chemical carriers) flying the flag of Liberia for a spill of 24 tons of oil in the sea. According to the State Ecological Inspection of the Northwestern region of the Black Sea, the water area of the Odessa maritime merchant port was polluted near berth on April 1. The ship owner was charged with causing over $1 million of damage.
