KIEV, May 7 – The hryvnia exchange rate on the cash market could return to the UAH 4.8-4.9/$1 range soon after the expansion of the exchange rate corridor to UAH 4.75-4.92/$1 during May holidays, according to bankers polled by Interfax-Ukraine.

"In May, the situation with the hryvnia has slightly improved, and one shouldn't wait for a further weakening of the dollar. In the future, a correction upwards to UAH 4.8-4.9/$1 is possible. Moreover, the summer is coming, and in summer the exchange rate is usually less mobile," director of the department of the treasury at Kiev-based BM Bank, Taras Kyiak said.
