KIEV, June 21 - Ukraine has confirmed its commitment to policies of the peaceful use of space at the 50th Session of the Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space held recently in Vienna.
Ukraine's delegation, led by National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU) Deputy Director General Serhiy Baulin, confirmed its commitment to the principle of the inadmissibility of the placement or use of any weapon of mass destruction in outer space, Interfax-Ukraine learned at the NSAU. The delegation stressed the importance of the implementation of the newly established United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (SPIDER).
