WARSAW, April 5 - Poland's President Lech Kaczynski is ready to act as mediator in Ukraine's domestic political conflict between its president and prime minister, should both sides request his involvement, Interfax reported Thursday.
"If President [Viktor] Yushchenko is willing, then I will join in, regardless even of the fact I've got three days off," the Polish president said ahead of the Easter break, in response to a proposal by Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych to invite international mediators in a bid to defuse the country's political crisis.
