KYIV, Sept 8 – The United States is likely to approve the allocation of a $4 billion loan to Ukraine for restoration and modernization of irrigation systems, as well as $550 million in gratuitous assistance as part of the program of partial guaranteeing of loans issued to Ukrainian farmers, since this option of public-private cooperation may be of interest for American companies.
Former acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olha Trofimtseva told Interfax-Ukraine at the agro-industrial exhibition AGRO-Vinnytsia.
"I think that this [Ukraine's receipt of funds from the United States] is realistic, since the issue of the development of irrigation systems can be just an interesting option for public-private partnership, and there may be an interest of foreign companies to invest, and, accordingly, to issue loans for this," she said.
