KYIV, Feb 18 – The leader in the pace of growth of imports to Ukraine in 2019 were LED lamps, which were imported for the amount of $1.262 billion, which is almost twice more than in 2018, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Ukraine's Trade Representative Taras Kachka said.
"Photosensitive Semiconductor Devices, including photovoltaic cells whether or not assembled in modules or made up into panels; light-emitting diodes HS Code 854140, has become the absolute leader in the growth of imports at the level of commodity taken individually. The import of this product amounted to $1.262 billion, worsening the trade balance by $648 million compared to last year," he wrote on his Facebook page, analyzing the official results of trade in goods in 2019, which he calls "not very comforting" given the growth of the deficit to $10.7 billion.
