KYIV, March 1 – Parliament has passed in second reading a bill aimed at reduction of shortage of scrap ferrous metals on the domestic market (No. 9474), increasing the scrap export duty from EUR 42 to EUR 58 per ton and extending it for two more years.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that a total of 234 lawmakers backed the bill.
"This is the third bill that we are adopting. Two worked very effectively: the deficit was lowered from 9% to 2%," Head of the relevant parliamentary committee Viktor Halasiuk said, introducing the document.
