KYIV, Sep 8 – Ukraine's state-owned Ukroboronprom concern is planning to modernize tanks of Ukraine's armed forces under NATO standards. The plan involves Poland's Zaklady Mechaniczne "Bumar – labedy" S.A., which modernized the Polish T-72 tank to the NATO PT-17 version," Ukroboronprom's press service has said.
According to the press release, Poland's experience modernizing T-72 tanks to PT-17s can also be used for Ukraine T-72, T-64 and T-80 tanks.
