KIEV, May 10 - Ukrainian coal mining enterprises in January-April increased production of run-of-mine (ROM) coal by 3.3%, or 439,900 tons, year-over-year, to 13.066 million tons, Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.
Coking coal output fell by 25%, or 769,500 tons, to 2.309 million tons and production of steam coal increased by 3.2%, or 329,600 tons, to 10.757 million tons.
In April alone ROM coal production fell by 22.3% or 777,000 tons, to 2.707 million tons, which is linked to the seizure of DTEK's enterprises by armed groups on the temporarily government uncontrolled areas.
