KIEV, April 21 – The Egyptian government said it doubts that the restriction on imports of kitchenware and tableware made from porcelain in Egypt imposed by Ukraine in 2014 is justifiable, and the country has sent questions to Ukraine via the World Trade Organization's Committee on Safeguards.
Egypt argues that Ukraine indentified Egypt as a developed country, depriving it of the preferential status of developing countries.
Egypt said that it is clear from the Ukrainian statistics committee that Ukraine didn't import the concerned product from Egypt between 2007 and 2010, and it exported only 7.9 tons in 2011 which represents 0.124% of total imports to Ukraine.
