MOSCOW, Dec. 13 ??“ Russia and Ukraine started to draw up contingency plans Tuesday for a possible escalation of natural gas dispute after Gazprom had rejected Ukraine??™s plan for a gradual increase of gas prices.

Gazprom set up a special team of managers that will work round the clock starting Jan. 1, 2006 to react to possible gas supply disruptions that may be caused by the dispute.
