Taxi drivers protest high gas prices, block road to Yushchenko office

KIEV, Nov. 3 - Thousands of taxi drivers flocked to government offices throughout Ukraine on Thursday in a coordinated action protesting high gasoline prices and overregulation of the sector, police said.

At least 100 taxi drivers have blocked a road leading to the office of President Viktor Yushchenko, demanding measures to help the sector. Several lawmakers have been reported to get stuck in a traffic jam, police said.
