LONDON, Oct. 17 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko, meeting British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Monday, said Ukraine will seek backing from the European Union to achieve the goal of joining the World Trade Organization in December.

The plea for support comes a day after WTO Director General Pascal Lamy has issued a negative comment while describing Ukraine??™s and Russia??™s chances of joining the WTO this year.
