KIEV, Sept. 5 - Ukraine's consumer prices were unchanged in August, belying the Economy Ministry's expectation of a minor price decline and making it more difficult for the government to keep inflation at below 10% in 2005.

The consumer price index, CPI, was steady in August, compared with a 0.3% increase in July and 0.6% rise in June, according to a State Statistics Committee report issued Monday.
