NEW YORK, Aug. 31- Ukraine's economic development and political situation have not improved as fast as expected after Viktor Yushchenko's victory in the presidential election, says Ralph Sueppel, an analyst from Merrill Lynch.

Political struggles still curb economic reforms, Sueppel is quoted by Bloomberg as saying. Against the backdrop of important transformations, this is a great disappointment, he said.
