KIEV, Aug. 15 - Antonov An-148, a new passenger jet that Ukraine seeks to promote worldwide, successfully completed a number of important flight tests in harsh weather conditions in Central Asia, the manufacturer said Monday.

The tests, in Uzbekistan and Armenia, were meant to show the aircraft would function in extremely hot temperatures and may take off and land in airports high in the mountains, Antonov said.
