KIEV, Aug. 6 ??“ Ukrainian sugar producers, fearing a price slump amid the government??™s plans to allow massive imports, met Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko Saturday to strike a deal that had left all parties happy.
The deal apparently anticipates that the government, through its reserve agency, will not let sugar prices fall lower than 3.1 hryvnias per kilogram even when the supply suddenly increases in September.
