Ukraine’s forex reserves to increase to $30-bln by end-January: NBU Journal Staff Report
Ukraine's international reserves in January 2023 will grow to about $30 billion, there are no grounds for adjusting the hryvnia exchange rate, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Yuriy Heletiy said. "The state of forex reserves: we ended the year with $28.5 billion, which was $1 billion more than the reserves with which we entered the war. By the end of January, we expect them to be at about $30 billion ... There are enough reserves. There is no reason to adjust the exchange rate now. Weakening is our strategic goal and we will work on it," he said Thursday.
