KIEV, April 24 – President Viktor Yushchenko on Thursday criticized Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s plan of turning Ukraine into a parliamentary republic in which powers of the president would be reduced or eliminated.
Yushchenko argued that Parliament, due to bitter political infighting between pro-government and opposition groups, has been the source of instability in the country for most of 2007 and 2008.
