KIEV, March 20 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko nominated Arseniy Yatseniuk, the first deputy chief of staff at the presidential office, as foreign minister after Parliament, led by pro-Russian coalition, had rejected Volodymyr Ohryzko.
Yatseniuk is not a career diplomat. A former central banker and a former economy minister, Yatseniuk is known for promoting pro-Western policy, such as joining the European Union and NATO, suggesting that the coalition may also reject him.
