KYIV, March 12 – Contrary to forecasts, Ukrainian corn began to rise in price on world markets due to increased demand for it from China, Turkey, Egypt and the European Union, according the analytical cooperative Pusk, created within the Ukrainian Agrarian Council (UAC).
"The trade's expectations that with the arrival of a new crop of corn from Argentina on the world market, demand and prices for Ukrainian grain would fall, did not materialize. The new Argentine crop is sold at higher prices than Ukrainian corn. We can predict an increase in prices for corn from Ukraine in the coming weeks," analysts noted.
