KYIV, March 4 – Belgium has unblocked EUR 1.7 billion in income from Russian assets, part of which will go to support Ukrainian refugees, part to finance the needs of Ukraine, discussions about their distribution are ongoing, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Monday.
"There is income from the use of Russian assets in Belgium. Belgium declared that they received into the budget, and this is their income, EUR 1.7 billion. These EUR 1.7 billion are divided partly to support Ukrainian refugees in the European Union, partly Belgium is ready to finance Ukrainian needs, in particular, defense ones," he said at a press conference on Monday in Kyiv.
