KYIV, Feb 15 – Imports of goods to Ukraine in January 2024 increased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year – from $4.8 billion to $5.1 billion, while exports – by 9.7%, from $3.1 billion to $3.4 billion, the State Customs Service reported on Friday.
According to published information, in January 2024, trade turnover amounted to $8.5 billion, which is 7% more than the same period in 2023, and the negative balance of trade in goods, despite the rapid growth of exports, remained at $1.7 billion.
It is clarified that taxable imports in January of this year amounted to $4.5 billion, which is 90% of the total volumes of imported goods, and that the tax burden per 1 kg of taxable imports amounted to $0.49/kg, which is 38% more than the same period in 2023.
