KIEV, Nov. 12 – The State Service of Export Controls of Ukraine has confirmed the issuing of a one-time permit to Ukrspecexport subsidiary Ukrinmash State Enterprise for the supply of small arms ammunition to Libya, noting however that they have no information about the specific content of the military cargo on board of the Sierra Leone-flagged Nour M ship, which was detained in Greece.
"In 2013, after inter-agency coordination, the State Service of Export Control of Ukraine issued a one-time permit to the state-run Ukrinmash to export military goods, namely small arms ammunition (7.62 mm, 12.7 mm and 14.5 mm cartridges), the end user of which is the Ministry of Defense of Libya," the service said commenting to Interfax-Ukraine on foreign media reports about the detention of the Nour M ship in Greece, which allegedly transported Ukrainian military cargo for the Libyan Defense Ministry without a permit.
"Ukrinmash was also instructed to oversee the delivery of the declared goods, and as a result, provide a detailed report on the delivery of the goods to the end user and a relevant delivery certificate, issued by the authorized state agency of Libya, to the State Export Control Service of Ukraine," the service said.
