KIEV, June 9 – Journalists of the TVi Channel have called for the creation of an independent parliamentary commission to investigate the withdrawal of frequencies allocated to the Fifth TV Channel and the TVi Channel in some cities of Ukraine, as well as consider the dismissal of Security Service chief Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, a representative of journalists of the TVi Channel Vitaliy Portnikov said at a press conference in Kiev.

"We claim that Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has an evident conflict of interest, that leads to the use of his official position in the interests of one media group, which is trying to monopolize the market illegally by deceiving the courts. That's why we are calling for the creation of an independent parliamentary commission to investigate abuse of authority by SBU chief and member of the Higher Court of Justice Khoroshkovsky for the benefit of his own business, as well as his dismissal from both his positions for the period of investigation,” Portnikov said.
