Court orders arrest of former speaker of Crimean Parliament

KIEV, Jan. 27 – The Central District Court of Simferopol has ordered Anatoliy Hrytsenko, a former speaker of the Crimean parliament and a deputy of the current Crimean Supreme Council from the Regions Party, to be taken into custody.

Shell oil to start work on production of shale gas in Ukraine

DAVOS, Jan. 28 – Shell oil will soon start work on the production of shale gas in Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych said.

Heat reported cut off to some regions to pay Naftogaz RUE settlement

KIEV, Jan. 30 – A television journalist was hospitalized with a brain concussion and multiple injuries on Friday in Poltava following an apparently four-hour detention, assault and interrogation by police, a news agency reported Sunday.
