Coal extraction in Ukraine will expected to reach 80m tons in 2008 Journal Staff Report
The coal extraction in Ukraine will be 80 million tons in 2008, said Yuriy Yaschenko, deputy coal industry minister. He said the coal enterprises subordinated to the ministry, as expected, this year would increase coal extraction by 5 million tons compared to 2007, to 47 million tons. Ukraine's coal extracting enterprises in 2007 decreased coal extraction by 6%, or 4.82 million tons, including a fall in coking coal extraction, of 5.8%, to 28.396 million tons.
