EU’s offer for EUR 50-bln in loans, grants to Ukraine not contested Journal Staff Report
The European Commission's proposal to support Ukraine with EUR 50 billion of loans and grants over the next four years is not contested by anybody, European Budget Commissioner Johannes Hahn has said, according to Sky News. "The central piece is the support for Ukraine. This is not contested by anybody, even in magnitude," he told a press briefing on Thursday. EU governments have been haggling over a revision of the 27-nation bloc's long-term budget after the Commission proposed that EU countries provide extra funds to the common budget, most of it for Ukraine.
