Confiscated Russian assets to pay for 50% of Ukraine’s reconstruction: EBRD Journal Staff Report
More than half of financing the restoration of Ukraine should be confiscated assets of the Russian Federation, 40% - private sector investments, EBRD Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone said. He said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano, Switzerland, on Monday that there could be other opinions. But the breakdown should be as follows: 60% - confiscated (Russian) assets and 40% - private sector funds. If to talk about GDP growth, then the role of the private sector should be greater, he said.
