KYIV, Nov 22 – Ukraine's State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate (SNRIU), in collaboration with the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS), is developing a regulatory framework for the deployment of small modular reactors (SMRs) in the country.

"One of the essential prerequisites for implementing SMRs is the presence of an appropriate regulatory infrastructure and the readiness of the regulatory authority to license new technologies," SSTC NRS stated on its website.
