KYIV, Feb 7 – Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has urged the European Union to boost production of artillery shells amid increasing shortages of ammunition following the suspension of military aid from the U.S..
"I would like to highlight three urgent steps that we expect from the European Union to increase the supply of artillery shells to Ukraine for the needs of the front, for the needs of our soldiers. First, we call on EU governments to sign long-term contracts with defense companies in order to facilitate the increase of production capacities of these companies," he said at a joint press conference with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Kyiv on Wednesday.
