KYIV, Nov 22 - The Energy Ministry and power generating company Centrenergo are working on securing imports of coal from Kazakhstan by sea, bypassing the railways blocked by the Russian Federation, Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko said.
"They are working on this. Coal is physically in the port, but this is a Russian port (Taman). The Kazakh side has joined the issue. This is also a problem for them, since they have obligations to us," he said at a briefing at the international conference "Atomic Opportunities for the Development of the Country."
