KYIV, Nov 27 – France may supply EUR 500 million worth of electric locomotives to Ukraine and build EUR 20 million electric battery for the Ukrainian power grid among new projects currently finalized between the two countries.
"The agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and Alstom will be two-stage. The first stage provides for the receipt of 50 electric locomotives,” Arsen Avakv, the internal affairs minister, said in a statement. “The first stage of this agreement with mandatory localization of production in Ukraine will cost about EUR 500 million. We are also very interested in the project for the construction of energy storage facilities. I hope its implementation will start in 2021.”
