KYIV, Oct 1 – The National Bank of Ukraine indicated on Tuesday it will step up purchases of U.S. dollars on the forex market in order to prevent a rapid appreciation of the Ukrainian currency, the hryvnia.

The NBU said it will buy $30 million/day in the fourth quarter, up from $20 million/day in the second and third quarters.
