KYIV, July 16 – Turboatom has completely replaced Power Machines (the Russian Federation) from the segment of supply of turbine equipment for Energoatom, Viktor Subotin, the director general of the company, has said, when commissioning reconstructed hydraulic unit No. 2 at Kyiv hydroelectric pumped storage power plant in Vyshgorod (Kyiv region).
"Evaluating the situation seven or eight years ago, we together with Energoatom adopted an import substitution program. Energoatom instructed us and we developed a project and recreated the possibility of manufacturing parts of 1,000 MW turbines produced in Russia. First of all, this is a titanium blade of the fifth stage ... That was the position according to which Power Machines dictated their conditions to Energoatom. We completely deprived them of influence on the company and undertook servicing all Ukrainian units," he said.
