KIEV, Dec. 14 – President Petro Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to review and specify the boundaries of the Chernobyl exclusion zone territory before July 1, 2016.
This is stipulated in the presidential decree "On the measures related to the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster", which Poroshenko signed on December 14.
"The instructions to the government include the proposal on setting up a Chernobyl biosphere reserve within six months, review and specify the boundaries of the exclusion zone territory before July 1, 2016 and compulsory eviction from the territories which were exposed to the radioactive contamination as a result of the Chernobyl disaster, conduct an inventory of lands, their proper processing and registration of land rights," the statement said.
