KIEV, Sept. 1 – A key witness in the case of missing Ukrainian journalist Vasyl Klymentyev has also disappeared, a newswire reported Wednesday, citing Petro Matviyenko, Klymentyev’s colleague and a witness in the case.

Matviyenko declined to provide the name of the disappeared witness and a source for his information, but said he had verified the information with law enforcement agencies, Unian reported.

Police declined to comment.

The development is a new twist in the investigation that may have involved senior Kharkiv regional government officials and police officers.
