KIEV, Nov. 14 - Ukraine’s steel sector, the backbone of the country’s economy, will probably reduce output more than 20% on the year in 2009 due to collapsed external demand, an industry analysis group reported.

Ukraine will produce about 29 million metric tons of steel in 2009, down 22% year-on-year, MetallurgProm, an association of steelmakers, reported Friday.
