KIEV, Feb. 11 - Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko asked the European Union on Monday to send a team to inspect Ukraine’s natural gas transportation facilities to make sure there is no unauthorized use of Russian gas.

Tymoshenko wrote a letter to the EU suggesting the move was needed to prevent allegations from the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom that Ukraine may be preparing to illegally use its Europe-bound gas.
