After squabbling, major parties agree to meet Monday to set up Rada

KIEV, Nov. 9 – Ukraine’s main political parties agreed to join an important meeting Monday to kick-start the work of the new Parliament following the Sept. 30 snap election as a deadline imposed by the constitution looms.

The centrist group led by Volodymyr Lytvyn, controlling 20 seats in the 450-seat Parliament, and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych’s Regions Party, controlling 175 seats, separately pledged to join the meeting.
