KIEV, Oct. 4 - Ukrainian and Lithuanian leaders on Thursday pledged their commitment to extending an oil pipeline that would enable supplies of Caspian Sea crude to markets in the region, easing dependence on Russian oil.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and his Lithuanian counterpart Valdas Adamkus spoke by phone on Thursday ahead of an energy summit in Vilnius scheduled on Oct. 10-11.
