MINSK, Jan. 14 ??“ Russia on Friday agreed to lower its duty on exports of crude oil to Belarus easing a sharp confrontation between the two that had recently disrupted European oil supplies.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenka praised the agreement on Sunday, but indicated that Belarus will seek to secure alternative oil supplies for its oil refineries, suggesting the standoff may resume in the future.
