Ukraine to gradually expand capacity for export-import of power to EU
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, April 24 - Ukraine plans to gradually expand the capacity for export-import of electricity with the countries of the European Union, Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko told reporters.

"At first it will be a little more than 2 GW, in 2032 we plan to increase the cross section to 6 GW, and in 2050 to 10 GW," he said.

According to the minister, existing studies, including the network of system operators of continental Europe (ENTSO-E), predict a certain shortage of electricity in the EU in 2030-2050.
