KYIV, March 29 – On March 28, some 33,000 people crossed the state border from Ukraine to the EU and Moldova, which is almost 20% less than the day before, and is the minimum figure since the beginning of the war.
"Compared to the previous day, passenger traffic on the western section of the border has decreased," the State Border Guard Service said on Tuesday.
The office clarified that about two-thirds of those who left, went to Poland, which is in line with the average figures.
According to it, the flow of people entering Ukraine on the 28th of March remained stable - over 21,000 compared to 22,000 the day before, including more than 18,000 citizens of Ukraine.
"The vast majority are men who are ready to defend the country. In total, over 479,000 of our compatriots have returned to Ukraine since the beginning of open armed aggression," the State Border Guard Service said.
All checkpoints on the western border (except "Dzvinkove") operate around the clock.
The State Border Guard Service also reported that over the past day the number of registered vehicles with humanitarian cargo was less than 500 against 530 the day before and 600-900 the previous days.
According to UNHCR data, as of 13:00 on March 27, a total of 3.87 million people have left Ukraine since the beginning of the war, of which Poland received 2.29 million, Romania and Moldova - 662,580, Hungary - 354,040, Slovakia - 275,440, Russia - 271,250, Belarus - 9,080. (om/ez)
