Yushchenko calls on government, Parliament to tackle inflation Journal Staff Report
President Viktor Yushchenko said that inflation poses the biggest threat to the stability of Ukraine's economy. "I call on the government and the majority of the Parliament... not to use populist steps, but to take clear anti-inflation measures, as the threat of inflation today from an economic point of view is the most serious threat to the stability of the economy," he said in Kiev on Tuesday. "No country fights inflation without using effective budget mechanisms," he said.
