KYIV, Sept. 26 - Ukraine’s national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny accumulated most of its gas imports over the past two months without customs clearance, using a special customs regime offered to foreign traders, the company said Thursday.

This was done to lower costs and to maximize the volume of European gas imports ahead of the winter amid fears of a possible clash with Gazprom.
