World Bank to create $250-mln fund to help meet Ukraine’s critical needs
KYIV, Dec 19 – The World Bank announced the creation of a multilateral trust fund to support the government of Ukraine in the implementation of measures aimed at meeting the critical needs of the state in the current conditions of war and the subsequent reconstruction of the country, and attracting starting $250 million to it.

British PM calls for boosting Ukraine support as Russian forces regroup
KYIV, Dec 19 – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, at a meeting of the leaders of the countries belonging to the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), called for increased support for Ukraine and ignoring the false call of the Russian Federation for a ceasefire, which the Russians need to regroup and strengthen their troops.

IMF may replace Ukraine’s monitoring program with funding in March
KYIV, Dec 21 – The Program Monitoring with Board involvement (PMB) for Ukraine (PMB), finally approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on December 19, if successfully passed next March, may be replaced by an extended program with funding, IMF Alternate Executive Director Vladyslav Rashkovan has said.

World Bank approves $610-mln package for Ukraine’s urgent needs
KYIV, Dec 21 – The World Bank has approved a new financing package totaling $610 million to address urgent needs in Ukraine: $500 million under the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE) Project and $110 million under the Health Enhancement and Life-saving (HEAL Ukraine) Project.

Ukraine gets $1.4-bln tranche from IMF’s Stand-By Arrangement loan
KYIV, Dec 21 – Ukraine has received the first tranche under the new Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the amount of SDR 1 billion (around $1.4 billion), which boosted the country's forex reserves to $20.1 billion as of December 21, 2018. |
