Coal miners converge on Ukraine cabinet to demand support for industry

KIEV, Jan. 28 – Around 300 miners came to the Ukrainian cabinet building on Wednesday to demand support for the coal mining industry and social guarantees to miners.


US signs off on $2 billion loan guarantee

KIEV, Jan. 28 - Parliament is due to debate a possible amnesty for scores of protesters arrested in anti-government demonstrations, BBC reported.

President Viktor Yanukovych has said he wants to make the amnesty conditional on protesters leaving official buildings and taking down barricades.
