KIEV, Jan. 27 – Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regional councils have decided to ban the activity and symbols of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Party of Regions in their regions.

A statement posted on Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council's Web site says that this decision was taken at an extraordinary session on Saturday, and was signed by the council chairman, Vasyl Skrypnychuk.
