KIEV, Nov. 3 - The Regions Party, an opposition group led by former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, joined pro-government lawmakers Thursday to overwhelmingly approve Oleksandr Medvedko, President Viktor Yushchenko's choice, as the new prosecutor general.
Medvedko secured 303 votes in 450-seat Parliament. "This is a big rating," Mykhaylo Potebenko, a former prosecutor general and now a lawmaker, said after the vote.
